AI Taxi Installation & Setup

Deploying MTM-TAXI on your FiveM server is an instantaneous process. The resource is completely standalone and contains zero database dependencies, SQL migrations, or external framework hooks.

MTM-TAXI is fully self-contained and operates out of the box on any server environment:

Requirement Status Purpose
Server Framework Optional Operates standalone; compatible with QBCore, ESX, Qbox, vRP, and vanilla servers.
Database Server Not Required Operates completely in memory with zero SQL queries or table migrations.
Asset Packs Not Required Uses base game vehicle models (taxi) and standard GTA V civilian ped hashes.

  1. Extract Resource Folder Extract the resource archive directly into your server’s resources/ folder. Confirm that the directory name is:

    resources/MTM-TAXI/
  2. Verify File Structure Confirm that your MTM-TAXI folder contains the following internal layout:

    MTM-TAXI/
    ├── client/
    │ ├── client.lua
    │ └── example_call.lua
    ├── server/
    │ └── server.lua
    ├── config.lua
    └── fxmanifest.lua
  3. Configure Boot Sequencing in server.cfg Add MTM-TAXI to your server.cfg. It can be placed anywhere after the core system resources:

    # Mountain Mods Traffic Suite
    ensure MTM-TAXI
  4. Verify Basic Configuration Open config.lua in your editor to verify basic settings:

    • Check Config.vehicle (default: 'taxi').
    • Confirm Config.deleteTaxi is set to true to ensure automatic cleanup of cabs after rides conclude.
    • Adjust notification messages to your server’s primary language if desired.
  5. Start the Resource Restart your FXServer or run the console command:

    start MTM-TAXI

Once in the server, test the system using the built-in test command:

  1. Walk out to any standard roadway in Los Santos or Blaine County.
  2. Open chat and type:
    /calltaxi
  3. A notification should appear informing you that the taxi has been dispatched. Within seconds, a yellow cab will spawn down the road, drive toward you, and stop at the curb with its handbrake engaged.

The Driver Reports “Cannot Reach You Here”

Section titled “The Driver Reports “Cannot Reach You Here””

If the system displays the message defined in Config.cantReach, the calling player is standing too far away from a mapped road node (greater than Config.spawnDistance, default 75 meters). Move closer to a paved street and initiate the call again.

If you wish to use a custom add-on taxi model (such as a modern minivan, sedan, or London cab), simply replace the vehicle spawn name in config.lua:

Config.vehicle = 'your_addon_taxi_model'

Ensure your add-on vehicle resource starts prior to MTM-TAXI in server.cfg so the model hash is available when requested.
