AI Taxi Configuration Reference

All operational parameters, vehicle models, spawning distances, seating assignments, and localized player notification messages for MTM-TAXI are configured in config.lua.

Setting Type Default Description
Config.vehicle String 'taxi' The spawn model name of the taxi vehicle.
Config.distance Number 70 Distance in meters down the road where the taxi spawns from the player.
Config.seatUsed Number 2 Default passenger seat index for the player (2 = rear right).
Config.pedModel String 'a_m_m_prolhost_01' Ped model hash used for the automated chauffeur.
Config.showBlip Boolean true Renders a flashing yellow taxi sprite on the map during approach.
Config.deleteTaxi Boolean true Automatically deletes vehicle and ped entities after the passenger exits.
Config.deleteTaxiTimer Number 6000 Delay in milliseconds before deleting entities after passenger exit.
Config.maxWaypointRoadDistance Number 40 Maximum distance in meters a waypoint may be from a road before refusal.
Config.spawnDistance Number 75 Maximum distance in meters the player may be from a road to hail a cab.

GTA V uses native zero-indexed seating identifiers:

  • -1: Driver seat
  • 0: Front passenger seat
  • 1: Rear left passenger seat
  • 2: Rear right passenger seat (Recommended default)

Setting this to 2 ensures that the passenger enters through the curbside rear door, safely away from oncoming highway traffic.

  • Config.spawnDistance (default 75): Checks if the player is close enough to a mapped road to be picked up. If a player is standing in the wilderness 100 meters away from any street, the driver refuses the fare.
  • Config.distance (default 70): The distance along the road where the taxi actually creates the vehicle entity. Spawning between 50 and 80 meters away creates a natural visual effect where the cab appears around a corner or down the block and drives up to the passenger.

Waypoint Road Tolerance (Config.maxWaypointRoadDistance)

Section titled “Waypoint Road Tolerance (Config.maxWaypointRoadDistance)”

Standard GTA V map markers placed by players are rarely exact. Setting this tolerance to 40 meters allows players to place waypoints generally near buildings, parking lots, or intersections without the driver rejecting the route, while still preventing trips to inaccessible mountains or water.
